– This is a new iPhone application (costs $2.99), that will turn your iPhone into a baby monitor. Very clever use of technology. Turn it on, and if it detects noise, it will automatically call another number (home number, other cell). Unlimited range… If I had an infant I would so buy this!

There is even a log created of all sound events… good for analyzing what the baby is doing!

Shoot… look at me… sometimes I get grumpy because I want to blog and it takes too long… lately I just write my comments on what I have been reading and BAM… automatically posted each day… that is AWESOME!

– Wow… this story is tragic and very VERY sad. What is more disturbing to me though are the comments. I only read through about 15-20 of them, but they are full of hatred and finger pointing, both racially, and politically. It just makes me sick to my stomach to see how greed and hatred has taken hold in our society.

1 John 4:7, 11-12 and many other similar scriptures come to mind… Can’t we all just get along?

– The church put together a great compilation of voices from other churches, and even those that opposed Proposition 8 speaking out against the hate and physical retaliation that has come out against the church. Those newsroom folks are really doing a good job of finding the good out there, because there is certainly a lot of bad…

– More Good Foundation found another great Analytics program that would allow you to initiate a conversation with a visitor… this is great! Oh and they use Jing to do a screencast! Awesome!

– I thought this was an incredibly accurate blog! It is about how the iPhone lets you navigate with one hand in the middle of night while you are up with the kids! I can certainly say I have used those middle of the night hours to get caught up with others thanks to my mobile devices. In all fairness, I could also navigate pretty well with a blackberry one handed.

– It seems that a lot of the discussion surrounding technology and the church have to do with accessing the scriptures in different formats. I have been amazed at the different ways people want to experience them. Here is another good example.

– This is a great example of how technology can hurt you… I think that the problem with TV is that there is too much bad, and not enough good! Notice too that church attendance makes you happier.. who knew?

– I have been a regular user of the Scriptures app on the iPhone… but it died on me again today. I keep having to uninstall and reinstall, or restart… and it is slow. I love that it has all the footnotes and so forth, but it just takes too long to load…

Today I read about this new one and downloaded it… best part…. I CAN HIGHLIGHT AGAIN ON MY MOBILE DEVICE!! Awesome! Costs $14.99… but well worth it to me who likes to study in bed and leave the light off so my sweet wife can continue to sleep!

– Oh this is just an awesome… who says there isn’t a need for scriptures on mobile format… this one if for a gaming device… and he actually has managed to get it in .txt format on there… that’s great!!

– I didn’t even know they were making a docu-drama about President Hinckley… it’s times like these I wish I lived in SLC… perhaps one day…. oh, and then I would see snow every once in a while!

– As we look more toward social media and viral marketing of the church on the internet this is a great thread to read about the use of church materials…

For now at least the church seems to be turning a blind eye to the use of church materials in YouTube video’s. The problem becomes when others starting taking that and using it for bad… right now members of the church are mostly using it for good videos! Which there are a lot of!

– I spent about 5 minutes today rating down horrible video’s on YouTube and rating up some good ones… this one is great!!

– Oh… this will not turn out well… especially with a gay actor cast as the lead Mormon missionary.. I cringe even thinking about it…

– Good Example of someone using social media to reach out to others and help others do the right thing! My son’s 8th birthday is coming up in June… perhaps I will challenge my family too!
